Bio:

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, Turkey and her Master’s Degree from University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Portugal. In her last year, she was an Erasmus+ Student in FH Technikum Wien where she finished her master project and thesis focusing on “Deep Learning Methods for Diabetic Eye Disease Screening and Smartphone based Applications”. During her studies she has participated in multiple internships in various departments and locations such as Innovation Think Tank at Siemens Healthineers in Germany, Cardiac Surgery Dep. at Abbott in Turkey and Surgery Department at Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Hospital in Portugal. She started her PhD at MedUni Wien in April 2023. Her main research topic is “Cardiac Risk Prediction from Retinal Images”. She is working on a WWTF-funded project focused on investigating the relationship between systemic and retinal circulation and identifying retinal biomarkers for cardiovascular disease with the aim to enhance early disease detection and improve patient outcomes.
