Bio:

Arunava Chakravarty is currently a postdoctoral research scientist at the Medical University of Vienna. During 2019-2020, he worked on the analysis and detection of abnormalities in Musculoskeletal X-ray images, Chest X-ray radiographs and mammograms as a postdoctoral research consultant at the Kharagpur Learning Imaging and Visualization Group, Indian Institute of Technology kharagpur, India. He obtained his Ph.d. in Computer Science from the Center for Visual Information Technology at the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad, India in 2019. During his Ph.d., he worked on the analysis of retinal color fundus images for the detection of glaucoma and the segmentation of intra-retinal layers in OCT volumes. He holds an M.Tech (2011) from the Department of Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, India and a B.Tech. (2009) in Computer Science from the West Bengal University of Technology, India. His current research interest lies in the development of Deep Learning frameworks to detect and track the progression of Age-Related Macular Degeneration in retinal OCT volumes.
